Where can our photo shoot take place?
Most of our outdoor sessions happen in and around Preston, where we know a handful of beautiful, quiet spots with lovely light (and easy parking — always a win with kids).
If you have a place that means something to your family — a favourite walk, where you got engaged, somewhere you go every Sunday — we’d love to hear it. As long as it’s not too far from Preston, we’re happy to make it work.
What if it rains?
Rain? In the North West of Enlgand? Never!
We keep it stress-free. If the forecast isn’t playing nice, we’ll simply move the session to the next suitable date — no drama, no pressure.
The viewing and getting your images
You’ll be invited back to the studio for a viewing session around a week after your photo shoot where I will help you choose the images included in your package.
At your viewing session, I’ll help you choose your favourites and talk you through digital options and artwork if you’d like it.
Your final digital images will be available within 2 days of your viewing, with artwork taking around 2 weeks to be delivered.

What age is best for outdoor family photos?
Outdoor sessions work beautifully at any age — from confident little walkers to teens. If you’ve got toddlers, outdoors is often ideal because there’s space to move and we can keep things playful and relaxed.
What should we wear for outdoor family photos?
Think coordinated rather than matching. Soft neutrals, earthy tones and gentle layers photograph beautifully outdoors. Try to avoid big logos and strong neon colours.
Once you’re booked, we’ll send a simple outfit guide (and you’re welcome to message us outfit options if you want a quick steer).
Can we bring grandparents / extended family?
Yes — just let us know in advance who you’d like to include so we can plan the session flow. (Some families keep it to immediate family, others love including grandparents — both work brilliantly.)
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely — well-behaved dogs are very welcome. Let us know when you enquire and we’ll recommend a suitable location and a simple plan to keep everything calm and easy.
How long does the session take?
Your outdoor family session lasts around 60 minutes. That gives us time to settle in, capture a variety of portraits, and keep things relaxed and un-rushed.
My child won’t sit still — is that a problem?
Not at all. Outdoor sessions are perfect for busy little ones. We’ll keep things light, follow their pace, and use gentle prompts to capture real smiles and natural moments.
When will we see our photos and choose images?
You’ll be invited back for a private viewing where you can see your images and choose your favourites at your own pace. Once you’ve chosen your 10 images, your final digital files are delivered shortly afterwards.
Do you offer prints, frames or wall art?
Yes. If you’d like artwork for your home, we can show you beautiful options at your viewing — from prints to framed pieces. It’s completely optional, and there’s never any pressure.
Can you help us choose a location and time of day?
Definitely. Most families don’t need to pick a location — we’ll suggest a few lovely spots based on the season and the kind of feel you want. We’ll also recommend the best time for light (and for little ones’ routines) so the experience stays calm and easy.
