When should we have our newborn shoot?
For those gorgeous cuddly, curled up photos on the beanbag, we recommend having your shoot within the first two weeks. For Newborn Lite shoots, any time in the first four weeks would work as we wouldn’t need to do any of the bean bag shots.
When should we book our newborn shoot?
As I tend to get booked up in advance, the sooner you can book the better. We advise booking soon after your 12-week scan so we can book your shoot in the diary nice and early.
Your baby's safety comes first.
The safety of your baby is the most important thing to me.
I use baby-led posing, meaning I’ll never force your little one into a position they aren’t super comfortable in. Their head will always be well supported. I make the studio toasty warm to keep them comfortable and we’ll take as many breaks as needed to make sure baby is well fed and rested.
I also have a host of clean blankets, wraps and towels that are washed between each session, along with nappies, wipes and nappy bags on hand for when occasional poonami occurs.
The viewing and getting your images
You’ll be invited back to the studio for a viewing session around a week after your photo shoot where I will help you choose the images included in your package.
At this time you’ll be able to upgrade your package to include more digital images or one of our beautiful, bespoke albums or artworks which are available to view.
Your final digital images will be available within 2 days of your viewing, with artwork taking around 2 weeks to be delivered.

When is the best time to book?
Ideally soon after your 12 week scan so we can reserve space around your due date.
What happens if baby is early/late?
We pencil in a couple of options around your due date so we can adapt if baby arrives early or late.
When is the best age for newborn photos?
For the very best chance of those cute snuggly images I like to have babies in the studio within 2 weeks of birth.
How long does a newborn session take?
Usually 2–3 hours, with plenty of time for feeding, cuddles and settling. I only book one shoot per day, so if your session takes longer there’s no problem – I always work at your baby’s pace.
What if my baby won’t sleep?
Totally normal. I work baby-led and can capture beautiful awake images, cuddles, and natural moments. Some of my absolute favourite images are when baby was awake.
Is it safe?
Absolutely — safety is our priority. Poses are gentle, supported, and I never force baby into anything uncomfortable.
Do you provide wraps and props?
Yes, I have a curated selection of neutral wraps, blankets and simple props plus a selection of neutral backdrops. If you have something meaningful, bring it too!
Can parents be in the photos?
Absolutely. Parent and family images are available with the Newborn shoot (and I recommend them — you’ll treasure them).
Can siblings be included?
Siblings can be included in our Newborn photo shoot, but not in the Newborn Lite session. We’ll keep it calm and plan sibling photos at the best time in the session.
What should we wear?
Neutrals work beautifully (cream, beige, soft greys). Avoid logos and busy patterns if you can – simple works best.
What should we bring?
Feel free to bring the baby bag for the essentials but if you run out we have nappies, wipes, towels etc. on hand to help out. Bring snacks (we have some already in the studio) and something to keep you comfy — sessions can run up to 4 hours.
Do you retouch skin?
Yes — gentle, natural retouching that keeps baby looking like baby.
Where is the studio?
I’m based in the beautiful village of Longton, Preston and I regularly have parents travelling from across the North West to see me.
When will we get our images?
I invite you back for a viewing around a week after your session to view and pick your images. Digital images are delivered within 2 days of the viewing, while real life products can take up to 2 weeks to be delivered.
Do you offer prints and wall art?
Absolutely, there’s no better way to display your images than in print. We have a range of bespoke artwork, gorgeous albums and prints in a range of sizes – all available to view when you come back to look at your photos.
